History of the Guangzhou Auto Show, and 2025 in numbers
The Guangzhou International Automobile Exhibition began in 2003 and has been held every year since, in late November – the last big motor show of the Chinese year. The organisers call it the “weathervane of the Chinese car market”. It has not missed a year: in 2022 it was postponed by the pandemic and held across New Year instead.

Milestones
2003
The first show
The Guangzhou International Automobile Exhibition is held for the first time; since then every year, in November. Guangzhou is one of China’s three big car-making centres.
2014
An electric-car show of its own
12th show: 220,000 m², 830 exhibitors, 1,095 vehicles. For the first time a separate 10,000 m² hall for electric cars – and trucks, buses and special vehicles alongside.
2016
Trucks every other year
14th show: a commercial vehicle show is added, held every two years; it draws 60,000 visitors of its own.
2020
The only one on time
18th show: the only international A-class motor show in the world held as planned that year – and again in 2021.
2022/23
Across New Year, in a new area
20th show: postponed by the pandemic to 30 December 2022 – 8 January 2023, the first in the new Area D. The only A-class show in China that year; the show has not missed a year since 2003.
2023
Parts become the “industry chain”
21st show: 847,000 visitors, 1,132 vehicles, 469 of them new-energy. The parts and accessories hall is turned into a supply-chain zone.
2025
More electric than not
23rd show: for the first time more than half the vehicles on show are new-energy – 629 of 1,085.
2026
The 24th show
27 Nov – 6 Dec 2026. The supply-chain zone grows to two full halls, 20,000 m².

Guangzhou Auto Show tickets and entry
On 24 October 2026 the organiser had not yet published ticket prices or the sales date for 2026. What is known:
Where to buy
